This is a big weekend in the NFL for the teams and for sports bettors. As we head towards the playoffs, some teams are battling for playoff spots and to establish supremacy. Here are two free picks. Both are football games that I liked early in the week as I wrote about them in my Tuesday blog.
The game started with Green Bay at -6.5 and the point spread is still at the same place. The difference here is not so much on offense, although I think Rodgers for Green Bay should out perform whoever stands in for the two ailing Detroit signal callers. It looks like it will be Drew Stanton. Stanton will most likely be overwhelmed by the Packer defense.
It’s true that the Lions put a good running game on the field but it won’t be good enough to keep them in the game. Green Bay will mount a more balanced attack and pull away in the second half.
Take Green Bay at -6.5
The Bengals were at +9 going into Pittsburgh and they are now at +9.5. Cincinnati has some very fine offensive talent especially when it comes to the air game. The Steelers have a tough time versus the pass. Pittsburgh will run the ball and should be effective against a weak Bengals’ frontline. It will be a sloppy day in Pittsburgh with rain and temps around 40. That simply makes this game a bit tough to call.
I like the Bengals with the points. Cincy may just have two wins but they have tended to keep it close for much of the season. Okay sports bettors here it is—Pittsburgh is fine on the moneyline but take Cincinnati with the point spread at +9.5.
Green Bay at -6.5 for three units and Cincinnati at +9.5 for four units.
