Wager Alarm NHL Best Bets: February 11
Andrew Dewhirst brings you his best bets for today's NHL slate.
Minnesota Wild vs. Vegas Golden Knights
Believe it or not, but Minnesota is a top five home team in the Western Conference, so seeing them as a home underdog is a nice opportunity to take. Vegas beat Minnesota for the first time in regulation earlier this year, while Minnesota was missing four players including the newly departed Jason Zucker. Look for Minnesota to win this one tonight.
Over 5.5 goals scored -- Carolina Hurricanes at Dallas Stars
Dallas plays in a lot of five goal games (three of their last five), however, Carolina hasn’t played in a game that has less than six goals since January 21st (a span of five games). The average goals given up by the two teams over the last two weeks is closer to seven. I look for this one to go over!
Buffalo Sabres (-1.5) vs. Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings have covered the spread just once on the road this year. The Sabres lost to Detroit last week at home, but have won all of their other meetings by two or more so I look for the Sabres to cover here at home.
